Meet The Maker
Hello. I am Patricia Korbisch, the “P” in CPK Creations. My husband of 35 years is the “C” and we have 4 grown children. We moved to Colorado in 2019 by way of Chicago, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Atlanta. I have crafted most of my life, bouncing between crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking and knitting. My knitting career started in 1987 when I was taught by a left-handed friend and have been knitting “backwards” ever since. I remember my first project was an awful pink sweater vest, but it was the 80’s after all.
In 2022, I was inspired to turn knitting into a business when friends, family and coworkers kept offering to buy my pieces. It was very exciting and a little terrifying to get started on this new venture. We celebrated my first sale to a complete stranger with a pin on a map. That excitement never gets old. But my favorite part of knitting is seeing a piece emerge from a simple piece of yarn, which I take everywhere: work, sporting events and vacations. To that point, I often combine my love for hiking with knitting, attracting a lot of attention when I began knitting at the top of Mt. Blue Sky (formally Mt.Evans) at over 14,000 ft. In addition to being a great photo op, it provided the opportunity to grow my business by passing out business cards. I absolutely love how knitting has integrated into my life as an empty nester.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you love my CPK Creations!
All my best, Patricia
